Choosing the Right Bowling Ball Bag

Every bowler, whether they are professional or just getting started, needs a good bowling ball bag. Bowling bags today do not only hold balls – but can also hold shoes, shirts and other must needed equipment. Here’s what you need to know to choose the right bowling bag that will fit your needs.
Storage Space
Bowling ball bags are available in multi-ball and single-ball varieties. The latter is practical for novice bowlers as they don’t really need a lot of equipment. Most single-ball bags hold a bowling ball, towels, gloves and a pair of shoes.
Multi-ball bags are designed for pro bowlers who use different kinds of balls in a game. They usually have straps or rollers for easier transport, since it’s not a good idea to carry multiple balls by hand. The multi-bags also feature several pockets for smaller equipment.
What It’s Made of
Most ball bags are made of polyester or leather. Leather material is more stylish, however polyester will hold up better against the weight of a ball. Choose polyester for multiple balls or other heavy bowling equipment.
Rollers or Straps?
If you are choosing multiple bowling ball bags, be sure to pick one that has rollers so you don’t have to carry heavy bowling balls. Weight can strain the shoulders and make you tired before the game starts. If you are looking at shoulder strap type bags, be sure that the straps have padding so it reduces the pressure on the shoulders.
Matching Colors
Be sure that your bag matches with your bowling attire. If you wear a uniform, be sure your bag complements its color. If you are just bowl for fun and wear Levis and t-shirts when playing, you might want to go for a darker shade — they usually go with just about everything and don’t get dirty as much as bowling bags as lighter shades do.
